Blue Ribbon Panel to Address Private Company Accounting Standards On December 17, 2009, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) announced the establishment of a “blue-ribbon panel” to address how U.S. accounting standards can best meet the needs of users of private company financial statements. The work and recommendations of the PCFRC played a significant part in helping to form the Panel. The PCFRC’s work continues as it fulfills its mission of providing recommendations to the FASB as the FASB sets accounting standards for privately-held enterprises.
